Are there other colors in traditional Egyptian dresses? If someone wears bright color dress but still cover their hair, do people think she is less modesty than a women in a black dress?
Why do Egyptian women wear a black dress if it also means "sadness"? any historical reason?
First, to eleminate the fog ,Egypt has no traditional clothes for women. Every woman in Egypt is completly free to choose the type of cloths and the color too. But some women prefer to wear a black dress because they considered it as a way to diminish the attraction of women to men. And i think they are free in thinking and taking decision and we must respect them in all decision they took even when we are not believe in it .
It doesn't matter biack or green but she must wear cloth that doesn't describ her body because it is very good for her to protect herself. Thank you. doctor Abd Allah Egypt

Nothing in Islam that women must wear black, every Muslima woman is free to wear whatever they want from clothes, provided that such non-transparent clothing Or the shape of her body i donot know why most of peaple donot think before speaks about islam ?
In the fact when women wear black clothes that is not from Egyption traditional but the women wear this because they think ablack dont attract the others,and this colour dont have any meaning.GOD dont determine any colour to wear it ,but order us wear what keep us and dont attract others.

The black dress for the Egyptian women means sometimes modesty, sometimes sadness and this time it also means fashion.

ReplyDeleteDressing in black is not that common in Egypt i mean compared to the gulf countries.
Yes there is muslim women who think of black as a sign of modesty but its not the norm for sure.
