  1. because the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) ordered us to separate between male and female if they reached a certain age is the age of puberty, the Prophet said (Teach your children to pray for seven and hit them when they are ten, and separate them in their beds). In addition to damage to the mixing between male and female, especially in this age is the age of adolescence. But in an earlier school we don't separate between male and female.

  2. First of all, in Egypt there are many Universities contains male and females and doesn't separated in University classes. Also in high school we don't separated in classes. There some exception in Al-Azhar University, I think this is making Al-Azhar very special place to study Islamic studies. We have to notes that the study in Al-Azhar at the beginning was in Al-Azhar Mosque in this case the separated must be done.

  3. Did Prophet Mohamed told you the reasons why you need to separate female and male children when they reach the certain age? and could you tell me in what age they are usually separated?

The second person said that separating female and male students for Islamic study makes Al-Azhar University "special". Do people think it is better to be separated? in what ways?

  4. Hi Jihee,
For your first question its when they reach puberty. The aim to maintain chastity.

For your second question for me the answer is 'Yes'. It keeps university as a place of education and help minimize distractions :)

  5. There is no sexual relations in Islam outside the circle of marriage
Since sexual desire is in the direction of each sex of the opposite sex, the convergence between the sexes could contribute to the illicit relations result in too many problems we do not need to it
The mixing often leads to lack of progress in education, especially for young males
And also regulate the relationship between men and women vary from country to country and from culture to culture and religion to another religion
Why the West does not respect our religion and our culture and our traditions?
islam some times allowed to mixture if the station need that

  7. I do not say the prophet Mohammed (pbuh)ordered us to separated us between male and female , because you do not believe with the prophet Mohammed so I say the women in fact always are very shy in front of the men so they are not freedom and they are not comfortable in front of the men . add to many universities contains between male and female except Al Azhar universities . finally , I think this the best thing for the women .

Males and females are separated at the university, especially in the Al-Azhar University because it is the University is keen on the teachings of Islam and the respect he founded and this separation is natural because Mel men to women and the tendency of women to men is also natural, and Islam is keen to be a community clean from the relationships is not true, Al-Azhar is keen on it too.

  9. I want to know, Why the West is interested in such things? \
What benefit the West if there was a separation between boys and girls in various stages of education?
Each community must establish the rules that fit with its culture and its environment, why the West does not respect our choices?

  10. Thank you Alyamany for your questions. First, I am interested in this question because I want to learn more about Islam, Muslims and Egypt.
    Next,
There are many schools in America that separate and are only for boys or only for girls. I think there are some benefits but there are also some problems with separating genders in education. In my understanding, the purpose of separating boys and girls is to not let sexual thoughts and behavior distract students from their learning. I think that if a young man cannot control his sexual thoughts enough to focus on learning with females around then he will have major problems functioning in a society with men and women after he finishes school. Therefore, I believe in teaching self-control of sexual urges rather than removing all sexual temptations because the real world includes males and females. I also think that girls make boys more reasonable, better behaved and just better people. And I think boys have a positive impact on girls too. I think boys and girls complement each other and sharing a classroom allows an enriching diversity of ideas, personalities, attitudes, etc.
And I agree completely that each community should establish rules that fit its culture. As I said, many schools in America also separate boys and girls and Americans accept this.
Why do you think that the West does not respect your choices? I do not think there is anything in the question that indicates this and I do not believe it is really true. I fully respect any community's decision to separate boys and girls in education but in my personal opinion the drawbacks outweigh the benefits.
